Position language                                                                                                              Duration: 2 weeks


Essential Questions:
  1. How do we describe the location of things?
  2. How are positional words used in math?

Big Ideas: 
  1. Objects and people have position relative to other objects.  
  2. Positional words can be used to describe relative position of objects in a real life environment and numbers in the counting sequence. 

Unit 1 instructional time is focused on these priority standards:
K.G.A1 Describe objects in the environment using names of shapes and describe the relative positions of these objects using terms such as above, below, beside, in front of, behind, and next to. 

Unit 1 instruction is supported by these standards:
K.CC.A1 Count to 100 by ones and tens.
